MK Singing School Policy

REGISTRATION FEE All students enrolled at MK Singing School are required to pay an annual registration fee of $25. The registration year runs from September 1 to August 31 of the following year. The annual registration fee is due upon a student's first enrollment in each registration year and is charged only once per student per registration year. The registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and is not prorated for students enrolling mid-year. The registration fee helps cover student records, administrative services, and school operational costs. Students registering for summer camps, workshops, master classes, or special events only are not required to pay the annual registration fee unless otherwise specified. All registration fees and tuition payments are final and non-refundable.

TUITIONS
a) All lessons are final sale. There are no refunds, no credit, no makeup lesson for missed classes for any reason.
b) We have three school terms per year - Winter, Spring, and Fall semester. The tuition is collected per term.
Additionally, we offer camps, master classes, and other events throughout the year, with separate fees for each.
c) All Tuitions are due upon registration. Payment methods: cash or email transfer to mksingingschool@hotmail.com
d) In the event that we are mandated to shut down our in-person programs, all classes will be transferred to online. We will do our best to keep the same schedule online. If the classes are offered online, there will be no credits or refunds for such transfers. Credit will only be offered for classes that the teachers are not able to teach.
e) Tuition does NOT include: master classes, learning Materials and concert or rehearsal fees. * Our tuitions do not include learning materials, due to copyright issues. Our teachers will recommend specific music sheet books that can be purchased separately. We strongly encourage parents to respect copyright laws by purchasing the recommended books. *The tuitions do not include master class, concert or rehearsal fees. We provide plenty of opportunities to perform during each term, some of which are free of charge while some may require a fee. Students have the right to choose whether to participate in such performance or not.

LATE PICK UP FEES Students are expected to be picked up promptly at the scheduled end time of their class.A late pick-up fee of $2 per minute will be charged beginning immediately after the student’s scheduled class end time. Any late pick-up fees must be paid in full before the student’s next class. If a parent/guardian is running late, the school must be notified as soon as possible by calling 647-281-8325. Late pick-ups may create safety and staffing concerns and may disrupt school operations. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring the timely pick-up of students and assume all responsibility for any consequences arising from late pick-ups. Repeated late pick-ups may result in additional administrative action, including the suspension or termination of a student's enrollment at MK Singing School.

MISSED CLASS POLICY
a) At MK Singing School, we understand that students may occasionally be absent due to illness or other commitments. If you know that your child (or yourself) will be absent, please notify us by email at mksingingschool@gmail.com at least 24 hours in advance. Students who provide at least 24 hours' notice are eligible for up to two (2) in-person make-up lessons per semester. In-person make-up lessons are arranged by attending another class within the same semester and at an appropriate level, subject to class availability.
Make-up lessons are offered as a courtesy and are subject to availability. MK Singing School does not guarantee make-up lesson availability. Any absence reported less than 24 hours before the scheduled class time ("Rush Cancellation") is not eligible for a make-up lesson.
b) Tuition will not be prorated, credited, transferred, or refunded for missed classes. All make-up lessons must be completed within the same semester and may not be carried forward to a future semester.

INCLEMENT WEATHER If inclement weather is forecasted (heavy snowfall, freezing rain, etc.), we will make the decision whether or not to transfer the class online 2 hours before the classes start time. All students will be notified by e-mail of such changes, if any.

CLASS INFORMATION
a) Every student must bring their own study material /books to the class. These can be purchased with the recommendation from their teacher.
b) MK Singing School reserves the right to make changes to class size without notice.
c) MK Singing School reserves the right to make changes to coaching staff without notice.
d) Absolutely no food or beverage in the classroom. Water bottles are allowed in plastic bottles only, no glasses or paper cups.
e) Do not leave any valuables unattended in the school. This includes favorites and special toys. MK Singing School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
f) Use of electronics and phones is prohibited during the class.
g) MK Singing School Management reserves the right to suspend and/or revoke student’s registration due to non-compliance of established policies and procedures.

PERMISSION TO USE SCHOOL TEACHING MATERIAL Some teaching materials from MK Singing School are intellectual property of MK Singing School. They are only for registered students’ personal, non-commercial use. Without written permission, such materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published or commercially exploited.

SCHOOL CALENDAR Instructional days and holidays are indicated in the School Calendar which will be emailed and will be posted in the school’s information board. The School may update its calendar from time to time. It is the student’s/parents’ obligation to get informed about the school’s schedule, breaks, official holidays and other events

DISCIPLINE
a) MK Singing School wants to ensure each student has an equal opportunity to learn and participate. In the event that a student is not being respectful, not participating, is late, is being disruptive in class or is interfering with the teacher, or the other student(s) during class, he/she may not be allowed in the class. Repeated such behaviors in subsequent classes may lead to a termination of the student’s registration with the school. When registering, parents must notify the school's administration if the child has behavior/focusing/learning issues.
b) Students and parents must show respect to the teachers, other students and parents, and should keep the school property clean and in order. Students should arrive before class starts. If late, he/she may not be allowed in the class. Repeated late arrivals may lead to the termination of his/her registration.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS
a) If you need to speak to the teacher, do not contact your teacher with questions right after the class. Rather request an appointment to speak to the teacher in private at a mutually convenient time.
b) Taking photos and video/sound recordings during the class is strictly prohibited as it is disruptive to the students and teachers. Photos and videos may be taken of your child only during the open session at the end of the class. Photos/videos of other children may not be taken, unless you have explicit permission from their parents. This also applies to group photos.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS
a) Safety first - never endanger yourself or others
b) Always follow directions - when in doubt, ask your teacher.
c) Only bare feet with socks or school indoor shoes may be worn in the classroom area.
d) No running in the school, except when directed by the teacher.
e) No food, beverage or chewing gum allowed in the classroom. Only water bottles are allowed inside the classroom.
f) No loud voice while waiting in the lobby or the hallways.
g) Students may not enter the classroom without the teacher.
h) Tell your teacher any time you injure any part of your body.
i)At the end of the class, always wait inside the building for a parent/guardian to pick you up.
j) ABOUT COVID-19. All students and families must follow our COVID-19 protocols. If an individual does not cooperate with our COVID-19 protocols, MK Singing School reserves the right to cancel the student's participation in the class. No refunds will be given.
k) In the event that our school in-person learning is mandated to shut down by the government, our regularly scheduled classes will continue to take place online. Refunds or credits will not be offered, for missed online classes. If we are not able to hold classes online during the shutdown, the missed classes will be refunded (excluding registration fees).
l) In the event that the class needs to quarantine due to exposure to a positive case in the class, the training will continue online. Tuition fees will remain the same whether classes are running in the classroom or online.

COMMUNICATION All communication on the group level is done by email. Parents must check their emails regularly and inform the office, should their electronic address change. We will call only if the information we want to communicate is urgent and/or personal. Parents may also call the school, write emails or come and talk to us in person during office hours.

ELECTRONICS AND VALUABLES Do not leave any valuables in the school. MK Singing School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
