MK Singing School was founded in 2009 by renowned mezzo-soprano, theatre artist, seasoned adjudicator for major vocal competitions, and vocal coach Ms. Ke Mao. Over the years, MKSS has focused on vocal education for children and youth in Canada, with the mission of “spreading joy through singing.” The school has built a welcoming and professional platform for music learning and performance, inspiring more and more young singers to explore their voices and shine on stage.

MKSS not only provides high-quality, professional, and engaging music courses, but also ensures that students have abundant opportunities to put what they learn into practice. Every term, students are encouraged to participate in public performances, charity concerts, and community events, where their outstanding singing and stage presence have been widely praised.

Under Ms. Mao’s guidance, MKSS students have achieved remarkable results in the Canadian vocal competition circuit year after year. In the 2023–2024 season alone, MKSS students earned 23 Platinum Awards, 67 Gold Awards, and 20 Silver Awards, with 10 students advancing to the finals of the Hal Leonard North American Vocal Competition among 1,500 competitors. In 2025, four MKSS students won awards at the U.S. NATS National Student Auditions (NSA). 31 students qualified for the OMFA Ontario Provincial Finals, achieving top provincial rankings, and eight students reached the Toronto Regional Finals of the “Water Cube Cup” Chinese Song Competition, winning a total of 2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals.
